College Profile:
College Introduction
 This college was restructured into a technical college in the 2000 academic year, adding both a 2-year program and a senior college in-service continuing education department; furthermore, in the 2002 academic year, it added a 4-year program. At that time, the college was with the department of travel management and the department of airline services. In the 2003 academic year, the 4-year department of leisure management was founded, and in 2004 the institute of tourism management was set up; meanwhile, the department of continuing education had also set up four-year and two-year professional travel and airline departments. In the 2009 academic year the bachelor’s program in tourism management was established, while the Ministry of Education issued its approval to start the first national doctor class for research on tourism management and a Master program in transportation and leisure service management. All of these improvements were made to help students who aspire to a hospitality and tourism education achieve their wishes through more channels, as well as to prove that the college cultivates and directs its students in accordance with current developments and that domestic hospitality and tourism education are developing vigorously. The college implements its strategy based on the faith of humanistic concern and then actively builds core values of professionalization, commercialization and globalization within the college to create a college that will offer one of the most competitive hospitality and tourism educations in all of Asia.
●The college orients its education towards practical research and emphasizes that knowledge and skill of management will be used in both discussion and research of the practical problems of running a business in the tourism industry. It also cultivates professional tourism talents through both theory and practice by combining the university’s industry-university development strategy with information technology to integrate the professional fields of travel, leisure and airline transportation.
 
●Development of the teaching curriculum comes from the principal axis of the capacity course group on tourism research, the capacity course group on tourism information and technology and the capacity course group on tourism professions.
 
●Combining the allocation of teachers and relevant courses from the department of travel management, the department of leisure recreation and tourism management and the department of airline and transportation service management helps design a cross-departmental program in tourism (including programs on the practice of conferences and exhibitions, and a program in IATA tourism) to advance the tourism field to reach a phase where it is integrated with technology.
 
●The curriculums of practice orientation of the institute (e.g. development and investigation of tourism industry, study of running and management of an airline company, analysis of the leisure industry, tourism industry and cultural development, etc.) are all planned to be instructed by top managers in a relevant tourism field who will be employed as professional technical teachers above the professor-level to achieve both the application and development of practice combined with theory.
 
●The proposal of a manpower cultivation plan for the institute of tourism management and the use of the mechanism of field supervisor and practice outside the campus combined with the demand and training of the industry to postgraduate students will achieve the condition where the postgraduate supply of the institute corresponds to the manpower demand of employers.
